Summary
AnyUs does not collect personal data such as your name or contact details. There is no account, no advertising and no server of ours: your widgets, doodles, special days and lists are stored on your iPhone. To improve the app, it sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, without the advertising identifier, to Google Firebase (you can turn this off in Settings). Only if you choose to share with your partner over iCloud is that content stored, encrypted, in your iCloud and shared with the partner you invite. We cannot see any of it. Rele Company ("we," "us," or "our") operates the AnyUs app.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
Widget names, doodles (the parts and colors you pick), your start day, special days, together lists, any names you type, and settings such as theme, appearance and Lock Screen style are stored in the app's storage on your iPhone. The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and the Dynamic Island only read this information on the same device. Deleting the app, or "Erase all data" in Settings, deletes it.
2. Sharing with Your Partner over iCloud (Optional)
- When: only after you tap "Invite my partner" or accept your partner's invitation. Until then nothing is sent to iCloud.
- What: only your widgets (name, doodles, start day, special days) and together lists. Names you type, theme, appearance and Lock Screen settings stay on each phone.
- Where: in the inviting person's iCloud (Apple CloudKit), shared through Apple's iCloud sharing so that only the invited partner can read and edit it. The content is stored in CloudKit encrypted fields that we cannot read, and it is never sent to a server of ours. Information in iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- What your partner sees: the sharing screen may show each other's iCloud name (shown by Apple).
- Stopping: in "Manage sharing" the inviter can stop sharing and the partner can leave at any time. When the inviter uses "Erase all data", the shared data in iCloud is deleted too.
3. Doodle Codes
A doodle code is a short string that holds only the doodle's choices (part numbers and colors). It goes only through the app you choose, such as Messages; we never receive it.
4. Photos (Add Only)
Permission to add to your photo library is requested only when you tap "Save to Photos" for a polaroid, wallpaper or profile picture. It is used only to add the image you made; the app never reads the photos already in your library.
5. Notifications
Reminders before special days and anniversaries are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; their content is never sent anywhere. While iCloud sharing is on, Apple's silent push notifications tell the app that your partner changed something; they carry none of the shared content.
6. Data Used to Improve the App
Through Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics we receive the following. It is not linked to your name or email, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and is never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Anonymous usage events: finishing each setup step, the screens you open, using features such as editing doodles, ticking list items, adding special days or widgets, whether our widgets are on your Home or Lock Screen and how many, theme and appearance, and whether you share over iCloud. Widget names, doodles, dates, list contents, names you type and doodle codes are never sent.
- Crash reports: device model, iOS version, app version, where the app crashed and similar diagnostic details about the running app
- Device identifier: a random ID Firebase creates for each installation (it changes if you delete the app)
- Approximate region: the country- or city-level region Google Analytics estimates from the connection's IP address. GPS and Location Services are never used.
Turning off Settings › Support › "Share usage statistics" stops both the statistics and the crash reports, and deletes crash reports not yet sent. Google's practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Data We Do Not Collect
- Contact information such as your name, email address or phone number (we never receive it)
- Photos, or your precise location (GPS or Location Services)
- What your widgets, doodles, special days and lists contain
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking data
7. Data Sharing
The anonymous statistics and crash reports in section 6 are processed for us by Google (Firebase). Shared iCloud data is kept by Apple as described in section 2. We share or sell nothing else.
8. Children
AnyUs does not receive anyone's name or contact details, including those of children under 13. The anonymous statistics in section 6 do not identify a person.
9. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Any change to how data is handled will be announced with the app update that introduces it.
